Kia Seltos Achieves 5-Star Bharat NCAP Rating, Sets New Benchmark for ICE SUVs
Kia India has announced that the new Seltos has secured a 5-star safety rating under Bharat NCAP, making it one of the highest-rated SUVs in its segment. More notably, it has emerged as the highest-scoring internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle tested under the program so far.
In crash tests, the Seltos recorded 31.70 points for adult occupant protection, the highest among ICE vehicles tested to date, along with 45.00 points for child occupant protection. This brings its total score to 76.70, setting a new benchmark for safety among conventional petrol and diesel cars in India.
The performance is backed by Kia’s updated K3 platform, which uses a mix of high-strength materials and reinforced structural components. The structure is designed to better absorb and distribute impact energy during a crash, improving occupant protection.
The Seltos also comes equipped with a comprehensive set of safety features. It includes a standard safety package with 6 airbags, electronic stability control and hill assist, along with a Level 2 ADAS suite offering 21 driver assistance features. Additional systems like a 360-degree camera, blind view monitor and parking sensors further enhance overall safety.
