Mahindra Launches UDO Electric Auto-Rickshaw in India at Rs 3.58 Lakh
Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited has launched the Mahindra UDO, a new electric three-wheeler positioned for the last-mile passenger transport segment. The vehicle is priced at an introductory Rs 3.58 lakh (ex-showroom), while the standard price is set at Rs 3.84 lakh.
The UDO features a full monocoque chassis, a first for the segment, aimed at improving structural rigidity and ride quality. It is powered by an 11.7 kWh lithium-ion battery pack (IP67 rated) paired with a PMS motor producing 10 kW peak power and 52 Nm torque. Mahindra claims a 200 km real-world range, with an ARAI-certified figure of 265 km. The top speed is rated at 55 kmph.
The vehicle offers three driving modes — Range, Ride and Race — along with regenerative braking, reverse throttle, hill-hold assist and creep function for low-speed traffic conditions.
Inside, the UDO gets a redesigned cabin layout with thicker driver seating and increased passenger legroom and headroom compared to conventional auto-rickshaws. Suspension duties are handled by an independent rear suspension and dual fork setup at the front.
On the safety front, the vehicle is equipped with drum brakes, tubeless tyres and comes with a 6-year or 1.5 lakh km warranty. Mahindra is also offering free service coverage up to 1 lakh km.
The UDO is manufactured at Mahindra’s Zaheerabad facility and expands the company’s electric three-wheeler portfolio in India.
