Mahindra BE 6 Formula E Edition Serves as Safety Car at IRL Goa Street Race

The Mahindra BE 6 Formula E Edition was deployed as the official safety car at Round 4 of the 2025–26 Indian Racing League (IRL) season, held at the Goa Street Race. The event marked the first time the IRL staged a race on a street circuit in Goa.

The BE 6 Formula E Edition is built on Mahindra’s INGLO electric platform and draws inspiration from the company’s involvement in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. Its appearance at the Goa race aligns with Mahindra Racing’s ongoing participation in the global all-electric series.

In safety car specification, the BE 6 is powered by a 79 kWh battery pack, with a claimed range of over 680 km (MIDC). The electric SUV produces 282 hp and 380 Nm of torque, positioning it among the more powerful EVs in Mahindra’s portfolio.

The vehicle led the field during safety car periods on the street circuit, highlighting its performance credentials in a motorsport environment. Actor and racing team owner John Abraham, whose team Goa Aces JA Racing competes in the IRL, also experienced a demonstration run in the vehicle during the event.

The use of the BE 6 at a competitive motorsport event reflects Mahindra’s continued effort to connect its road-going electric vehicles with its racing activities, particularly as electric mobility gains greater prominence in domestic and international motorsport.
