Mahindra Introduces Thar ROXX Star Edition | Visual Updates and Added Features
Mahindra & Mahindra has expanded its Thar ROXX line-up with the launch of the Thar ROXX Star Edition, a new variant that focuses on cosmetic changes and added comfort features rather than mechanical updates. Prices for the Star Edition start at ₹16.85 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Star Edition sits above existing Thar ROXX variants and is positioned as a styling-led addition to the range. Key exterior changes include a piano black front grille and piano black alloy wheels, giving the SUV a darker, more uniform appearance. Mahindra has also introduced a new exterior shade called Citrine Yellow, alongside existing colours such as Tango Red, Everest White and Stealth Black.
Inside, the Star Edition features an all-black leatherette interior with suede accents, a change from the lighter cabin themes offered on other variants. Additional comfort features include ventilated front seats, a sliding front armrest, 60:40 split rear seats with recline, automatic climate control and cruise control. The SUV also continues to offer a panoramic sunroof, LED lighting and a touchscreen infotainment system with connected car features.
No changes have been made to the powertrain options. The Thar ROXX Star Edition is available with both the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines, paired with manual and automatic transmissions. All variants are offered with rear-wheel drive.
Safety equipment remains unchanged and includes six airbags, tyre pressure monitoring, front and rear parking sensors, a surround-view camera and electronic safety aids. Mahindra states the vehicle is engineered to meet five-star Bharat NCAP standards.
Since its introduction in 2024, the Thar ROXX has been positioned as a more road-focused and feature-rich alternative to the standard Thar. With the Star Edition, Mahindra adds a more premium-looking option for buyers prioritising design and interior ambience over additional off-road hardware.
