Tata Motors Launches Harrier and Safari Petrol Variants, Prices Start at Rs 12.89 Lakh

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles has launched petrol-powered versions of the Harrier and Safari, introducing the brand’s new 1.5-litre HYPERION Turbo-GDi petrol engine to both SUVs. Prices for the Harrier petrol start at ₹12.89 lakh, while the Safari petrol is priced from ₹13.29 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).

The new petrol engine produces 170 PS and 280 Nm of torque and is offered with both manual and automatic transmissions. Tata Motors stated that the engine has been tuned to balance fuel efficiency with everyday drivability, targeting both city and highway use.

The Harrier petrol recently received recognition from the India Book of Records for achieving the highest fuel efficiency by a petrol manual SUV over a 12-hour period. Both the Harrier and Safari petrol variants have also achieved a five-star rating under Bharat NCAP, extending the safety rating across the entire model range.

Feature highlights on the petrol variants include a 14.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital rear-view mirror with integrated dash camera, premium audio system, and multiple driver-assistance and convenience features. The models continue to offer a range of trims, including the Dark editions.

With the introduction of petrol powertrains, Tata Motors expands the appeal of the Harrier and Safari line-up, offering buyers an alternative to the existing diesel options in the premium SUV segment.
