The Toyota Supra will be gone next year, but there is hope!
If you’re an enthusiast, you know the Toyota Supra, in fact you pretty much love the Supra. The mk 5 heralded the return of a legend and enthusiasts were in love all over again. Of course there was the slight debate about it not being a pure JDM thanks to a German heart, but then with the amount of performance, handling and tuning capabilities on offer, it was loved anyways. I mean, Turbo charged straight six, with almost 400BHP to the rear wheels, what’s not to like.
But after its global unveil almost 6 years ago, Toyota has decided to pull the plug and announced that it will end the Supra mk 5’s production in 2026 and the new Final Edition just confirmed that. The Final Edition makes more power though with 430BHP. Only 300 will be available and only in Japan and Europe. While India can only dream of these.
While the mk 5 will never be as legendary as the mk4, its still sad to see its production come to an end. Even more so because it signaled the revival and was also the torch bearer of the Supra brand. But all is not lost. According to sources, a successor is due and we can expect some hybrid performance with a proper JDM heart. Well, we can’t wait!
