Yokohama India Partners with The Classic Himalayan Drive 2025
Yokohama India has partnered with The Classic Himalayan Drive 2025, a 10-day motoring expedition that celebrates automotive heritage and adventure across the Himalayas. The event retraces parts of the routes used during the 1980s Himalayan Rallies — once among India’s most iconic motorsport events.
The drive will flag off on November 2, featuring over 100 participants and a rare collection of vintage and classic cars, including a 1958 Mercedes 180A, 1970 Ford Mustang, 2000 Mini Cooper, Lexus 470, Jaguar XK8, and Mercedes 230 CE. Participants and vehicles are arriving from India, Europe, the UK, and Sri Lanka.
A Journey Through Scenic and Challenging Terrain
The Classic Himalayan Drive 2025 will traverse picturesque and demanding routes through Mussoorie, Rishikesh, Manali, and other mountain towns. The event aims to combine nostalgia for vintage motoring with the thrill of modern touring, offering enthusiasts a blend of endurance, camaraderie, and scenic exploration.
As part of the partnership, Yokohama India will operate a dedicated Pitstop on November 9 at Batra Tyres, Chandigarh, a member of the Yokohama Club Network. The service center will provide tyre inspections, wheel alignment, and balancing support to participating vehicles. Visitors in Chandigarh will also have a chance to see the collection of classic cars up close.
A Tribute to Motoring Heritage
Organizers say the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to preserving the culture of driving and mechanical craftsmanship. For Yokohama, the partnership also underscores its connection to endurance and precision — qualities long associated with both vintage racing and the brand’s engineering philosophy.
Founded in Japan in 1917, Yokohama operates in over 120 countries and has been active in India since 2007. The company runs tyre manufacturing facilities in Haryana and Vizag and maintains a network of over 3,000 retail outlets across the country.
