MG Motor India Highlights Cabin Air Quality Amid Rising Pollution
As India heads into the festive season — and with it, worsening air pollution — JSW MG Motor India has announced that all its current models feature advanced PM 2.5 air filtration systems designed to improve cabin air quality.
The move comes as smog levels spike across northern cities due to stubble burning and firecrackers, prompting renewed focus on in-car air quality.
Cleaner Air Inside Every MG
According to the company, all models — including the Astor, Gloster, Windsor, Comet, and ZS EV — come with built-in PM 2.5 air filters. The MG Hector goes a step further with an integrated PM 2.5 air purifier featuring an Air Quality Index (AQI) display that monitors and reports real-time air quality inside the cabin.
PM 2.5 refers to particulate matter smaller than 2.5 microns — small enough to penetrate deep into the lungs. MG’s air filters are designed to trap up to 95–99% of fine pollutants, including dust, smoke, and bacteria.
Focus on Health and Sustainability
The system in the MG Hector uses an activated carbon filter to eliminate allergens, odors, and harmful gases, enhancing passenger comfort. The real-time AQI display helps create awareness about air quality inside the car, the company said.
JSW MG Motor India described the initiative as part of its commitment to “a cleaner, smarter, and sustainable future.” The automaker, known for models like the ZS EV and Comet, continues to promote cleaner mobility and introduce health-focused in-car technologies.
A Broader Vision for the Future
Formed in 2023 as a joint venture between SAIC Motor and JSW Group, the company aims to strengthen India’s automotive ecosystem with advanced technologies and localized production. Its manufacturing facility in Halol, Gujarat, produces over 100,000 vehicles annually and employs around 6,000 people directly and indirectly.
