Mercedes-Benz has opened bookings for the all-new CLA electric sedan in India, while also introducing a new CLA 200 ‘Standard Range’ variant alongside the CLA 250+ ‘Long Range’ model ahead of its launch.
The CLA 250+ Long Range offers a claimed 792 km WLTP range, while the newly added CLA 200 Standard Range delivers 542 km, giving buyers more choice depending on their driving needs. Both variants share similar equipment levels and advanced technology
Sustainability and Charging Strategy
Built on an 800-volt electrical architecture, the electric sedan supports ultra-fast charging. Using a 240 kW DC fast charger, the CLA 250+ can add up to 400 km of range in 20 minutes, while the CLA 200 can add around 320 km in the same time.
Mercedes-Benz will support the EV with its MB.CHARGE Public network that provides access to more than 9,000 charging points across India, while customers can also opt for a 22 kW Mercedes-Benz home wallbox charger.
Software and User Experience
Mercedes-Benz continues to push its MBUX digital ecosystem in the CLA BEV. The system integrates navigation, voice assistance and energy management, allowing the vehicle to suggest charging stops and optimize routes based on battery levels and charger availability. Connected services via the Mercedes me app also enable remote charging management, vehicle monitoring and integration with the brand’s charging infrastructure

The Bottom Line
The CLA BEV marks Mercedes-Benz’s next push into the luxury EV sedan space in India. The new CLA BEV positions Mercedes-Benz squarely in the premium electric sedan segment, where it will likely compete with models such as the Tesla Model 3, BMW i4 and upcoming premium EV sedans.
By offering two range options and fast-charging capability, the brand is targeting buyers who want premium design, long-distance usability and a fully connected digital experience in an electric sedan.
