McLaren Turns Its 10th Constructors’ Title Into a Road-Going Collectible

For most racing teams, a Constructors’ Championship is remembered through statistics, archived race footage and the occasional museum display. McLaren has chosen a different route to mark its 10th Formula 1 Constructors’ Championship, translating a modern title-winning season into a road car that is as much a historical artefact as it is a supercar.

The result is the Artura Spider MCL39 Championship Edition, a run of just 10 customer cars created by McLaren Special Operations. Each one is directly linked to the MCL39 Formula 1 car that delivered McLaren the 2025 Constructors’ crown and carried Lando Norris to his first Drivers’ Championship, alongside Oscar Piastri.

From a motorsport perspective, what matters here is not exclusivity, but accuracy. The hand-painted livery mirrors the race car’s colours, and the detailing goes beyond surface-level references. The ‘10’ motifs feature stars and outlines representing every McLaren F1 car to win a Constructors’ title, effectively compressing six decades of success into a single design language.

The connection to the 2025 season is further reinforced inside. Each car carries plaques listing McLaren’s race wins, pole positions and fastest laps from the championship year, along with carbon-fibre sill panels signed by Norris and Piastri. These are not decorative extras; they are documentation.

Mechanically, the Artura Spider remains unchanged, which is the right call. This edition is not about performance upgrades but about context. It exists because McLaren’s recent success sits alongside its historic peaks, rather than in their shadow.

In a sport where legacies are often reduced to numbers, the Artura Spider MCL39 Championship Edition serves as a reminder that championships still matter—and that some teams understand how to preserve them properly.
